Tim Herd is the President of the People, Parks & Community Foundation, a philanthropic charity supporting vibrant, livable communities with targeted grant programs. He is the retired CEO of the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society.
Tim is the originator of the annual nationally celebrated Park and Recreation Professionals Day, and executive produced the national video A Choice Career: Parks and Recreation.
He is a Certified Park and Recreation Executive, and has been nationally recognized by the Take Pride in America Awards Program for his “commitment and exceptional contributions to the stewardship of America’s natural and cultural resources.”
Tim is an award-winning writer, and the author of many books, articles, features, and serial columns on leadership development, the benefits of parks, and connecting to nature.
